Hello to all and welcome to NCDC, Fitchburg Campus!  Formerly located at the McKay Campus School at Fitchburg State University as an award winning  "Lab School/Child Care Center (17.5 years). We hope that you enjoy what you find on our site, as we do our best to become a program based on fun and learning.  We in Fitchburg take the educational aims of our families and implement them into our program and curriculum.  In doing this, we create a parent/teacher cooperative that is developed in our classrooms and is shown in your child's progress.  If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program, you can use the online "Request for Service" form found on the Admissions page. Hello! My name is Heidi and I have been employed with Vince and Carol now for almost nine years. I began working for them as a lead preschool teacher then became director for their Fitchburg location a little over a year later. I have been working in the field of Early Childhood for about 22 years. I began in my first year of college. I earned by bachelors degree in Early Childhood and a minor in Psychology from Fitchburg State College. I always knew that I wanted to work with children from a very young age. I love what I do and I am very passionate about my job. I am glad to be a part of the Northwest family and have a great staff to work with every day. They make my job that much easier and so enjoyable to be around.

MS. CHERYL

Lead Preschool Teacher

I am 26 years old, a graduate from Fitchburg State College with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies/Early Childhood. I have worked for NWCDC since February of 2006 starting off as an assistant teacher and now lead teacher of the Preschool Classroom along with Ms. Ann. I have worked with children ranging from 2.9-5 as well as in our school age/summer campe program. I have my Massachusetts Preliminary Teaching License (finally) after passing the necessary portions of the MTEL. Hopefully I will be able to start on, and complete my Masters degree as well. I enjoy being a big kid myself, having fun, creating art projects, & playing games both indoors and outdoors with the kids. I love seeing when the children have learned and accomplished a task and knowing that I was able to be a part of that learning! I honestly don't know what else I would choose as a career if it wasn't teaching children. It's where my big heart has always been!
